音楽史

一人で食事をしていると暇を持て余すのか、オレンジジュースのパックに書いてある宣伝文句でも真剣に読んでしまいます。

今年はその時間を使って音楽史の本を読むことにしました。食事中に読書とはお行儀がよくないですが、結構読み進みます。

When I was eating by myself, I somehow get bored and end up reading the commercial words on the package of orange juice seriously.. I decided to use the time reading music history book instead. It is not a good behavior to read while eating, but it is productive in a way.

明けましておめでとうございます

明けましておめでとうございます。

初めてのNYでの年越しは、友人と年越しそばを食べながら、タイムズスクエアのカウントダウン中継をPCで見ながら迎えました。年越後しばらく、除夜の鐘こそ鳴りませんでしたが、３０分くらいは街のあちこちに上がる花火の音で賑やかでした。

本年も益々、ここで過ごせる時間を大切にがんばって参りたいと思います。今年もよろしくお願いします。

Happy New Year! I spent the new year's eve with my friends here in NY. We ate Toshikoshi-Soba and celebrated the moment of New Year with online broadcast of Times Square Countdown. We could hear the sound of fire work from inside the apartment for a while. It seemed that everyone in the city was celebrating the new year here and there. I would like to appreciate every moment I could experience here.

全体的に鑑賞した数は少ないですが、ブロードウェイミュージカルを沢山観られたのでよかったです。

クラス振り返り

セメスターは終わってしまいましたが、今期受講したクラスを振り返ってみたいと思います。

・Tonal Composition　フーガを書きました。

・Introduction to GR Studies　リサーチの仕方を学びました。

・Analysis for Performers　音楽の要素を色々な側面から話し合いました。

・Techniques of the Modern era　Webern, Stravinsky, Bergの曲を分析しました。

・Score Reading/GR　Tchaikovskyまでの時代のシンフォニーをピアノで弾きました。

・Advanced Schenkerian Analysis　Shenkerian Analysisを使って曲を分析しました。

・Dictation V　無調の聴き取りをしました。

・Keyboard III　数字のない通奏低音の楽譜を弾きました。

・Conducting Choral Music Beethoven/Mozart　BeethovenやMozartのミサ曲を歌って指揮しました。

クリスマス

お久しぶりです。

なんだかセメスターが終わった報告もできないまま、もうクリスマスまで過ぎてしまったことに驚きを隠せません。。。

今年の年末は初めて帰省せずに、NYで過ごす予定です。

大晦日までに、毎日少しずつ今年の振り返りをしていきたいと思います。

I cannot believe that it is already after the christmas! I remember the last day of the school almost like yesterday. Anyway, I will stay here in NY this winter break. I will go over the memory of this year one by one from tomorrow.
